What is the deadline for submitting a temporary residence application?

No later than the last day of your legal stay in Poland.

You have the right to appeal any decision within 14 days of receiving it.

Yes. A decision from the second-instance authority can be challenged by filing a complaint with the Voivodeship Administrative Court within 30 days of receiving the decision. However, even if the Court rules in your favor, this does not automatically mean a temporary residence permit will be granted. The Court will annul the second-instance decision and return the case for reconsideration. If the Court does not agree with your position, you may file a complaint to the Supreme Administrative Court. Depending on the location, the entire procedure may take several years.

With a valid residence card, you can travel and stay in Schengen countries for no more than 90 days within any 180-day period, provided you have a valid travel document, justify the purpose of your stay, and have sufficient means to support yourself for the entire stay.

To apply for a temporary residence and work permit in Poland, a foreigner must enter Poland on a type D work visa issued for Poland.

Yes. There is a separate act on the protection of foreigners, which allows granting asylum, refugee status, or subsidiary protection. Applications in these matters are handled by the Office for Foreigners.
